Building characters and scenes through improvisation games and mindful imagery and creative writing exercises, will lead your child into a magical world of self-exploration while increasing their focused listening skills, significantly building self - confidence, and cultivating a knack for collaborating as part of a team.

Weekly Acrobatics/Tumbling Program

Acro Level 1: Ages 6-9- In this beginning acro class, students will learn basic acro skills, including forward and back roll, front and back straddle role, cartwheel, headstand and headstand front roll. 

Dress Code: Leotards, Tights, Close Fitting Workout Clothes.
Saturdays 2 - 3 pm

Acro Level 2: Ages 7 - 12- In this low / Intermediate acro class, students will learn progress to more advanced techniques of acrobatics, including one armed cartwheel, round-off, back extension roll, back bend kick-over.  Open to students who have had past experience in acrobatics.

Dress Code: Leotards, Tights, Close Fitting Workout Clothes.
Saturdays 3 - 4 pm

Acro Level 3: Ages 10 - up- This middle/ Intermediate acro class is for students with prior experience with acrobatics.  Class includes work on advanced techiques, including; back walkover, front walkover, front handspring, press handstand and back handspring.

Dress Code: Leotards, Tights, Close Fitting Workout Clothes.
Wednesdays 6 - 7 pm

Hip Hop 101

This beginner Hip Hop class will have those of you who have only gone as far as practicing dance moves in front of your bedroom mirror to bringing the life to any party! You will learn the fundamentals to Hip Hop as well as choreographed Hip Hop dances. Your coordination along with your self-confidence will be through the roof! Instructor, Nicole Rocci, is a native to the area and is an extremely patient and talented instructor. So, throw your dancing shoes on and sign up today! This class in open to both boys and girls!  Dress for exercise, bare feet, stockings, or indoor dance sneakers.

*For students who wish to determine their existing skill level, appointments can be made to meet with the instructor.

Latin Intermix

Learn exciting choreography that mixes the Latin styles with more traditional dance.  Class begins with a comprehensive warm up for the entire body and then students will be taught choreography that both travels across the floor and works on stationary isolation.  The choreography will focus on simple combinations using Latin ballroom dance as well as other dance to fuse such styles as Cha Cha and Hip Hop.

Dress for dance/exercise. Footwear: bare feet, stocking feet, ballroom shoes.

*This class will continue during the academic year at a different time and day.
 

Pre-Jazz Hip Hop

This beginner program allows students to take the 2 most popular forms of dance in one class.  The jazz/hip hop class teaches fundamental jazz steps and combines the elements of hip hop moves and contemporary music.  We have found that the combination of jazz and hip hop is ideal for this age.  Students learn the necessary elements of jazz which are crucial to success in hip hop, but also get to learn hip hop moves which require the coordination and balance learned from jazz.  When students complete this class they are ready to progress to the next level.


Ballroom Fitness

Latin Dancers have some of the best bodies in the world...and they have the most fun getting them! Dancing in heeled shoes optimize the toning and lengthening of the body's muscles. Let the driving Latin beats work your body into shape!

Latin/Ballroom Dance

Singles and couples are welcome to learn and dance some of the basic Latin ballroom dances such as Rumba, Cha-Cha, Samba and Jive! Ambi, our instructor focuses on instructing to the best of your ability in a relaxing and fun atmosphere!
We rotate partners frequently during class, so that you will learn to dance with different people not just your dance partner. However, we like to maintain a close ratio of men to women, therefore Pre-registration is strongly recommended.
This class is also perfect for wedding couples and their bridal party to learn a few dance steps for the upcoming occasion.
You will find many benefits, and many enhancements to life if ballroom dancing is your avocation, pastime, or hobby. You will also find an enhanced appreciation of music and its rhythms. You will experience an increased sense of balance, and a more fluid movement in walking and running.
Dancing with a partner in harmony with good music will help you develop a more open, understanding, responsive, and supportive relationship with your partner and with others. Your outlook on life will become more positive.
While all dancing has its value, there will be several completely memorable dances in one's life. A time when the partner, the music, the movement all come together in a sense of achievement and pleasure that stays in memory.


Ballroom DanceSport

Ballroom DanceSport is the competitive version of ballroom dancing where syllabus based on the International Standard and International Latin Style is instructed. Though actual competing is OPTIONAL, class instruction focuses on criteria such as connection, frame, posture, speed, proper body alignment, proper usage of weight/ankles/feet, and grooming in graduating levels from “Newcomer” to “Gold” divisions.

 

Martial Arts

The American Martial Arts Institute (AMAI)has two full-time locations in the state of New York and now will also have a satellite location here in Clinton. Grandmaster Clifford C. Crandall, Jr. heads AMAI and is assisted by over 47 black belt instructors

The American Martial Arts Institute which teaches "American Eagle Style" has a heritage of tae kwon do, karate and wu shu styles with self-defense that meets the needs of men, women and children of all ages. As an institute of learning the school has become also known as a certified center in the teaching traditional Laido from Headmaster Tsuneyoshi Matsuno, called "Takenouchi-Hangan-Ryu-Matsuno" and "Tai Chi Chuan".

AMAI uses hands and feet techniques equally, resulting in a more well-rounded physical program. The style is called "The American Eagle Style". The style has strong roots in the historical formulation of traditional martial arts. The given breakdown of the American Eagle Style reagarding national influences is:                                        
American (Self-Defense & Forms) = 40 %
Korean (Tae Kwon DO) = 35%
Japanese (Karate) = 15%
Chinese (Wu Shu) = 10 %
