This class is all about acting! If you're looking for an acting hot spot that builds off of your magical imagination and best of all....is fun - then you've hit the right class! This is for those of you who love games, love creating characters, and of course love showing off your uniquely wonderful wild side! Creative Writing Course Description: Aspiring young writers explore and practice the art and craft of creative writing. During the course, students will practice storytelling, short story writing, writing for the stage, and poetry as well as sharpen their editing skills and learn just what it takes to get published. In each class, students play games that strengthen their core writing skills, do creativity exercises, and write. In the face-to-face course, we wrap up with an opportunity for students to read their work to an appreciative audience of family and friends. This course is ideal for students who love writing and dream of being published some day, but also for those who are struggling to see the fun side of writing. Student Comments for the Art Department Illustrative ArtsCharacter Design for Kids (Ages 10 - 13) Ms. Florence DiGennaro Limited registration only. Will take up to 3 students per class. Mondays, starting September 27, 2010 until December 13, 2010 = 12 classes 7pm - 8pm A great introductory class into the world of Art and Illustration. Students use their imaginations to develop their own personal art style. While working with various drawing mediums, students learn practical artistic skills that will give them a firm understanding in the process of creating wonderful works of Art. Students will learn classical drawing techniques, working in graphite, charcoal, and ink/marker. In this session, students focus on the creative aspect of Character Design. Character Design is a necessary step in the production process of book illustration, cartoons, video games, movies, etc. The preliminary work of design is such an important aspect in creating any finalized piece of art work.
Editorial Illustration (Ages 14 + up) Ms. Florence DiGennaro Limited registration only. Will take up to 3 students per class. Tuesdays, starting September 28, 2010 until December 14, 2010 = 12 classes 7pm - 8pm Great for developing your Art Portfolio for High School and College! Learn the ins-and-outs of Editorial Illustration in this class. Further develop your own unique style and gain knowledge of the Publishing World. The Publishing World is fast paced and demanding in the Art Field. Students learn to produce ideas quickly and bring to final product their original works in quality, professional pieces. Students must have a basic art knowledge in drawing techniques. The student supplies materials for projects in class. Only drawing mediums. (examples: Graphite, Ink, Oil pastel, Marker, Colored pencil. Feel free to call with any questions or concerns.)
